Where is 85% of the addition reached?
85% addition reached at 11.85 mm (Plano lens with +2.00 ADD).
Is the Accolade™ lens design aspherized?
Accolade lenses are totally aspherized. However, there is no difference between the power measured in the lensometer (distance vision) and the prescribed Rx.
Is progression length and inset variable included in the design?
Yes. Inset is variable as a function of base curve and addition.
Accolade™ lenses have 3 comprehensive patents supporting this design technology:
- The use of eye length criteria in the optimization of a progressive lens
- The use of frame parameters to transform a design
- The calculation methodology used to get the proper optical design, including the progression
length transformation according to frame features and wearer's pupil position
How does the progression length vary?
Progression length varies according to the frame parameters and fitting height provided. It's the result
of the patented combination of both front and back lens design:
- Front side keeps the softness of the initial progression-length profile
- On the backside, a new profile adjusts to a shorter progression length, if needed
- Retains the initial Accolade lens design and provides the progression length according to the
frame requirement
Are Accolade Freedom™ lenses available without AR?
Accolade Freedom lenses offer the newest progressive lens technology, which integrates eye shape into individual progressive lens design and systematically includes your choice of premium anti-reflective treatments.
Can an individual Accolade Freedom lens be ordered or do you have to order a pair?
Yes. Individual lenses can be ordered as needed.
Can Accolade Freedom lenses be tinted?
Yes. Any tint options currently available can be ordered. Airwear®/polycarbonate lenses would be a special order from the Dallas Processing Center (Avisia) through your laboratory customer service center.
How high does the add power go?
Up to +3.50 ADD is available for both Accolade and Accolade Freedom lenses.
